SAN DIEGO (May 19, 2025) – California Western School of Law (CWSL) is proud to announce that Professor Aaron Schwabach has been selected for a prestigious Fulbright Specialist Program award from the U.S. Department of State. As part of the award, Professor Schwabach will travel to Cambodia’s Royal University of Law and Economics, where he will collaborate with faculty and students to exchange legal expertise and explore shared interests in the study and practice of law.

According to a statement from the Fulbright Program, “Professor Aaron Schwabach is one of over 400 U.S. citizens who share expertise with host institutions abroad through the Fulbright Specialist Program each year. Recipients of Fulbright Specialist awards are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, demonstrated leadership in their field, and their potential to foster long-term cooperation between institutions in the U.S. and abroad.”

Professor Schwabach joined CWSL last fall, bringing extensive expertise in professional responsibility, intellectual property, international and environmental law, and the legal history of figures like Thomas Jefferson. He is also a recognized authority on fan works and the law of the Harry Potter universe. His scholarship has appeared in numerous journals, including the Berkeley Journal of International Law, Columbia Journal of Environmental Law, Northwestern Journal of Technology & Intellectual Property, and Texas International Law Journal.
